The New

The New is a short looping animation made for the group show Water Signs. Using mixed media, King explores themes of queerness and landscape, placing his body within the waters of the New River in Appalachia. Ideas in this work helped shape King’s 2024 animation project, Tiger Lily Mountain Pass.
