Hands to Hold You

2020 | looping animations

Hands to Hold You is a small body of work created during the early days of the Covid-19 lockdown. In a moment when the act of touch was rare, the work reflects on the need for physical contact. King explores the emotional weight carried by simple hand gestures—how they can convey care, longing, reassurance, or unease. Using rotoscoping techniques, King references his own hands, transforming video into stylized animation.
